From the first view to where we are now, the Conifer Development representatives and the local Fort Hill site team have been working very hard to make this project feasible. A large visible part of that is the enormous clean up they accomplished in the auditorium.
Lots of scraping, fixing and painting was done. The electrical, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, as well as the build-out is complete. The upper part of the auditorium is repaired and painted. The sprinkler system is installed. All plumbing is complete. Electrical wiring and lots of drywall has been finished. Take a look at how far we've come!
A lot of work was done to prepare for the remodeling process. Architectural designs, engineering, and electrical drawings, building permits, and a lot of hard work! Approximately 750 seats were removed, disassembled and taken out of the theatre. Below are some "before" and "after" pictures.
After four years of planning, fundraising, redesigning and general mountain-moving, the curtain at Fort Hill Performing Arts Center finally went up for its three-day grand opening gala Jan. 10, 11 and 12, 2020. An all-star lineup included performances by Michael Park and Nicolette Hart, the Rochester Oratorio Society, members of Finger Lakes Opera and Rochester City Ballet, the Collective Force Jazz Ensemble, Diana Jacobs Band, Finger Lakes Concert Band, the Greater Finger Lakes Jazz Orchestra and Blue Grass Trio.
